Who is ASI, Automation Systems Interconnect, Inc.?

Automation Systems Interconnect, commonly referred to as ASI, is a manufacturer and supplier of a very wide range of high quality competitively priced electrical and electronic components, printing systems and custom assembled products.  ASI components are found in a wide range of industrial automation and control, power distribution and generation and printed board assembly applications.

Our History

Headquartered in Mechanicsburg, PA ASI was founded in 1999 by a team of professionals who had gained experience working for similar companies such as AMP, Inc (now TYCO), Phoenix Contact, and other electrical component manufacturers.  During that time we were able to gain knowledge from customers as to what they were looking for in both products and a supplier.  Armed with that work experience and customer knowledge, ASI went about designing a complete line of interface modules, developing strategic supplier partnerships with several industry leading companies in Europe and ASIA and launching a website that today is recognized as one of the easiest to use when looking for our type of products. 

Over the past 13 years ASI has done business with over 5,000 companies in the United States, Canada, Mexico and elsewhere around the world.  Our own investigation and the feedback from our customers’ shows that on average we save our customers 20% to 50% and more when compared to industry leaders offering like products.  The quality of the ASI products is evident in the materials, the features and the design.  In fact, for many products the customer cannot tell the difference when visually looking at the products, while in others, such as our power supplies, ASI offers a much higher quality product with many more features at a lower price and offering a 5 year warranty.

Experienced Suppliers with International Approvals

The suppliers with who we have partnerships are industry leaders, several in business over 50 years, most having ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 certification and their products have international agency approvals such as UL and ATEX.  Naturally in an effort to protect our environment the products are RoHS compliant.  In addition to having stability, excellent manufacturing capability and a focus on quality our suppliers also recognize the need for responsive customer service.  In many cases ASI has direct online access and is able to check stock, place orders, and access products for immediate delivery.  Stock is maintained here at ASI and in larger volumes with our partners, as witnessed by over 10 million cable glands and over 2 million sensor cordsets in stock at our supplier partners, as an example.

Wide Range of Products

ASI now offers well over 8,000 different components ranging from terminal blocks to power supplies, cable glands, printer systems, sensor cables, industrial switches, interface modules, relays, circuit breakers, heavy duty connectors and more.  Our goal is to provide our customers with a one stop location when specifying and purchasing components for use in their equipment, panels and factories.  Our product specialists daily offer suggestions to customers on products and alternatives that will save them time, space and money.  When a standard product or purchasing individual components is not the answer, ASI is equipped to provide our customers with individually assembled, designed and manufactured products.  Many customers have specified a custom interface module, a complete DIN rail assembly, special cable assembly, unique through panel connector or one of the many other products and services offered by ASI. 

Innovation that makes a difference

Innovation is also a part of the overall strategy of ASI and our supplier partners.  This innovation is seen in our thermo print marking system which can save tens of thousands of dollars over the competition due to its’ design features and ability to print a wider range of media.  Our own designed and manufactured through panel remote access connectors allow us to turn around custom designs in a matter of days.  Our rear mount industrial switches or installer friendly limit switches, pluggable connection power supplies, 8 relays in less then one inch of panel space, low-cost DIN rail cutter, and special M8 and M12 connectors are just a few other examples of our innovative product offering.  In other words, ASI and our supplier partners are constantly looking for ways to make our products better, faster and more economical then our competition.

Saving money on the purchase of high quality components is only one of the ways that ASI is saving our customers money.  In many instances the real savings have come in how EZ ASI has made it to find, specify and purchase any of our products.  Time is the real currency of the day and therefore customers regularly go to the ASI website to check pricing and availability and they do it quickly and easily without the hassle of locating such information as seen on our competitor’s websites.  ASI also gives our customers the option of purchasing locally through our growing network of distributors.  We recognize that many customers have a special arrangement and relationship with local distributors and we want to do everything possible make it EZ to obtain the ASI products through that channel.
