Plastic Nylon, Brass, and Stainless Steel PG and Metric Threads > Hazardous Location Ex & ATEX Cable Glands Explosion Proof Cable Glands and Cord Grips |
Explosion proof cable glands are used in environments where flammable products such as gas, vapors, fog and powder are used. In these hazardous locations it is important to use ATEX cable glands. ASI offers both nickel plated brass cable glands and plastic cable glands. The brass cable glands are available with metric threads ranging from M12 to M63 and extended length metric threads ranging from M12 to M50. The plastic cable glands are available in standard and extended lengths, in both PG and Metric threads. Choosing which flameproof cable gland meets your hazardous area needs is dependent upon the application and then by preference. Please note that for a multi cable gland application the use of a multi-hole cable gland seal is needed. This seal supports more than one cable going through a flameproof cable gland. There are different sized holes and number of holes in each of these inserts. Finding the correct one will support each cable without bunching them together or impacting IP65 rating. Ex cable glands and ATEX strain relief fittings are ideal for applications in fertilizer, chemical, offshore, petro chemical and similar industries that require an increased safety level. Each of these cable glands meets the Ex e IIC/Ex tb IIIC safety level in accordance to EN 60079-0:2009, EN 60079-7:2007, and EN 60079-31:2009. These are useable in areas 1 & 2 and 21 & 22. The operating temperature range is -25°C to +90°C continuous and up to 110°C for short periods. | ||
