ASI offers both knife disconnect and sliding link terminal blocks for use in electrical, measurement and control circuits where it is necessary to open up a circuit without removing wiring, such as when testing or shorting out current transformers(CT's).
Normally used in process industries with control loops, the ASI knife disconnect terminal blocks comes in two styles. One style features one wire connection in and one connection out on the other side of the terminal block. The second version has two independent wire connections on each side of the block which connect together internally. Both feature an orange colored knife disconnect so as to make it easy to visually recognize when the circuit is opened or closed. The screw heads in the single wire version will accept a test jack in order to make it very convenient during the testing phase of operation.
The ASIUK5MTKPP is equivalent to the Phoenix Contact® UK 5-MTK-P/P, 3004032 and the ASIUDK4MTKPP is equal to the UDK 4-MTK-P/P, 2775210. Both of the ASI products feature similar design, shape; color and material as the Phoenix Contact® knife disconnect terminal blocks.
The sliding link or switchable terminal blocks from ASI are ideal for applications in electrical circuits, such as with current transformers, CT's. The ASIURTKSBEN has independent test sockets built into the metal bodies separate from the screws. The ASIURTKS allows for testing right at the screws as the heads are hollow and will accept a test jack. Various bridge accessories are available which allow for different bridge configurations depending on the circuit and application.
The ASI sliding link terminal blocks are equivalent to the Phoenix Contact® URTK/SBEN, 0309086 and the URTK/S, 0311087. They feature similar design, color and materials and the accessories can be used interchangeably.
