ASI gives you a quality selection of high current terminal blocks. With two series of blocks to choose from, you can easily find the right block for your application.
- GPM Series:No other high current terminal block on the market offers the range of features as that of the GPM series. The GPM high current terminal block is available in 18 different models with a current handling capacity ranging from 269 amps to 452 amps at 1000 volts . The GPM high current terminal block offers 3 different wire termination options to the customer. The first is a bolt to bolt connection which accepts wires that have been fitted with a crimped on terminal or lug. The second termination method is a clamp-to-clamp connection, where the customer inserts a stripped wire or cable and then, with the use of a hex wrench, tightens a high tensile, high torque screw clamp to secure the connection both electrically and mechanically. The final option for termination is a combination of the bolt or lug connection on one side of the terminal block and a clamp connection on the other side. View bolt to clamp connection for more information.
In addition to the DIN rail mount version a panel mount version is available upon request from the factory. Since you are dealing with high current and high voltage safety was a big aspect of the design features of the GPM series. Each connection method is fully insulated once the wire or cable connection is made. For example a hinged cover rises up in order to provide access to the bolt for connection of a wire with a crimped on terminal. A moveable cover is used on the clamp connection and it can be lowered down on the wire insulation once the termination is complete
- Compact GPA Series: The GPA Series of high current terminal blocks are fully enclosed and insulated, mount on a DIN rail or directly on a panel and use the highly reliable and easy to terminate screw clamp method of connection. The GPA Series is available in 8 different models with a wire range of 8 AWG up to a 3/0 cable, current handling capability up to 415 amps and a voltage rating of 1000 volts. Due to the high tightening torque required to insure a reliable electrical and mechanical connection, the GPA series uses an Allen head screw of 4mm to 6mm depending on the model. The DIN rail mount version of the high current GPA series has been designed with an easy to access and actuate locking lever which will insure a positive hold onto the rail, something especially important with larger wires carrying high current
