Screw Clamp Sliding Link and Shorting Terminal Blocks
The SCB family of DIN rail mounted sliding link terminal blocks and CT terminal block (current transformer shorting terminal blocks) are designed for modularity, reliability and safety. Wires are connected to the shorting type terminal block using the tested screw clamp wire termination technology. The sliding 2 or 4 position jumper is ideal for single and three phase circuits that are wired to a current transformer where it is necessary to short out the secondary winding during installation, maintenance or testing. Since current transformers should never be open-circuited when current can pass through it is necessary to use a specially designed terminal block such as the SCB series which performs both the open circuit and short circuit function in one device. Sliding link terminal blocks perform the function of opening the CT secondary circuit for test and maintenance purposes. Anti-loosening of the sliding link is accomplished with the locking screw.
Shorting jumper is used to short the secondary circuit of the current transformer for test and maintenance purposes. Anti-loosening of the jumper is accomplished with the screw which is part of the color coded test sockets
