Data Surge Protector RS485 2-Wire Data Network Systems, 5 Volt, 12 Volt, 24 Volt, 48 Volt
ASI RS485 data surge protection is widely used in industrial control and building automation processes. It protects the 2-wire data network from lightning surges, oversurges and other types of surges that can negatively impact the wiring system. ASI offers two styles of RS285 surge protection. The inline style and the DIN rail mounted style with pluggable surge protection modules. Both are available with nominal voltage ratings of 5 volt, 12 volt, 24 volt and 48 volt. These lightning protection devices protect against surges at the boundaries from lightning zone 0B-2(inline version) and 0>3 for the pluggable version.
Both styles have a fast 2 Mbps transmission speed, have a high nominal discharge rating up to 10kA 8/20μs and have a compact footprint. They are designed and built in accordance to IEC 61643-21:2000+A1: 2008 criteria. Both the inline and modular SPD have three-stage surge protection.
The inline version has two 3-position 3.81mm pluggable terminal blocks with screw clamp wire terminations for the two-wire system, a fast 2 Mbps transmission speed, and a compact footprint. An optional clip may be purchased to make it DIN rail mountable. The yellow DIN rail mounted surge protection devices have a plastic housing, screw clamp wire terminations, and mount on 35 mm DIN rail.
